I lost my mom this past October 8th, 2010.
She was sick a long time, had no quality of life and was ready to join my Dad in a better place.
She managed 87 great years in this life and even though I really did not have her the last few years I was her main custodian and caregiver.
I miss her dearly but know she is now out of pain and take comfort in that thought.
I had the chance to get to know a neighboring camper at the Larry Joe Music Festival several years ago and it seemed I always started and ended the night at Jim Bob's camp fire. There was normally some of the best songs at his campfire and the best songwriters.
I remember the first time I heard Jim Bob sing this song and the effect it had on me then.
My daughter Kelley was just a year out of the woods from her surgery for a Brain Tumor and was at the end of her Chemo treatments.
After the wonderful Hospice were called in mom went into a catatonic state.
I felt totally helpless.
To take my mind off the inevetable I came home and began working up a video using Jim Bob's song.
About 2 hours into the project and 90% done I got the call around 9:30 pm.
Mom had passed from this world.
This song will always be very important in my life, I hope you enjoy the montage.
